Mark Hubbard Leads: Wife Still Reeling From Headshot!

Well, golfers, buckle up! The Valero Texas Open is already delivering big on day one, and one name particularly stands out: Mark Hubbard. The guy put on a performance at the Oaks Course of TPC San Antonio that was truly spectacular. Things really heated up!

Hubbard, who truly made a name for himself this Thursday, fired off six birdies on his last eight holes. In the end, a crisp 7-under-par 65 was on the scoreboard, securing him the solo lead. All one can say is: what a strong performance from the man! While 24 players still need to finish their first round, Hubbard's clubhouse lead is already making a statement.

Oops, About That...

But amidst all the euphoria over Hubbard's current high, there's another story to keep in mind – and it comes directly from Golf Digest headquarters. Because apparently, Hubbard remembers a previous encounter with this very course in San Antonio all too well. And it was quite an incident. A few years ago, he reportedly hit his own wife on this course with a golf shot. Ouch!

Mark Hubbard blistered the Oaks Course at TPC San Antonio on Thursday. Unfortunately, he still couldn't forget the time he drilled his own wife with a golf shot there a couple of years back. 😳 Read more: https://t.co/rHW1fgZfXJ

Ace Alert! The Story of Jason Bohn

While Hubbard dominates the headlines with his current performances, one mustn't forget the stories of the seasoned pros. For example, that of PGA Tour Champions player Jason Bohn, 52 years old today. As a 19-year-old college golfer, he already proved what he was capable of. His first hole-in-one back then earned him a cool $1 million in a competition – but it also cost him his spot on the University of Alabama team because he accepted the prize money as an amateur. What a move!

Bohn's career is packed with highlights: a 58 on the Canadian Tour, a 61 at a PGA Tour event, and a total of five career aces. A true baller! If you want to see Jason Bohn live: he'll be competing at the Regions Tradition in Greystone at the end of April, specifically from April 29, 2026. We're hoping for another sensational round!
