Grace Kim, the Australian golf phenomenon, is now the new face of MyGolf, spearheading a true grassroots movement. The Major winner and LPGA Tour icon will serve as the sole female ambassador for Golf Australia's national junior program, MyGolf powered by Ripper GC, for children aged 5 to 12, aiming to inspire the next generation at the tee.
The timing for this move couldn't be better, as women are already setting the pace. Girls' participation in MyGolf has risen by a whopping 27% in the last year – twice as fast as boys. A third of the over 40,000 annual participants are now young female golfers. A really strong sign that the sport is gaining more and more traction with kids.
From Talent Pipeline to Tour Star
Grace Kim is exactly the right person to maintain this momentum. The 25-year-old Sydneysider knows how to turn big dreams into real success. Last year, she clinched her first Major title at the Amundi Evian Championship on French soil in a thrilling playoff. Afterwards, she was part of the Australian team that won the International Crown in Korea and reached World No. 21.
Inspiration for the Next Gen
What many don't know: Kim picked up her first club at just 10 years old – the same age many of today's MyGolf kids discover the sport. She is passionate about sharing this enthusiasm: “I am incredibly proud to become an ambassador for MyGolf powered by Ripper GC. Golf has given me so much, and it's my passion to show young girls and boys how much fun and fulfillment this sport can bring. It's a sport you can play for a lifetime, and I hope that through my ambassador role, I can inspire more children to try it. MyGolf has introduced thousands of Australian girls and boys to our sport. It's the perfect way for young Australians to pick up a golf club for the very first time.” So things are looking good for MyGolf – with a true champion at the helm.
