LIV's Opens? Players on Tour! DeChambeau Chasing Masters

The rumor mill had been buzzing for a long time about whether the LIV Golf Tour would soon launch its own national Opens to shake up the global golf calendar. However, the latest maneuvers by the Saudi-backed league indicate a different path. Instead of going it alone, they seem to prefer clever partnerships – a move that creates excitement and makes the league's image as a mere "talent poacher" fade.

A clear indication of this is the upcoming Singapore Open from April 23-26, 2026. Up to eight top LIV Golf players will be competing on the Serapong Course at Sentosa Golf Club. This US$2 million (approx. €1.85 million) Asian Tour event is proof of the ongoing collaboration, which also includes a gigantic US$200 million (approx. €185 million) investment in the Asian Tour and the International Series Pathway to the LIV League.

LIV's New Tactic?

Instead of overburdening the calendar with new events, they prefer to integrate into existing structures. This strategy aligns with LIV's own development: with 13 teams (four players each) and five wildcards – totaling 57 golfers – the roster is now truly strong and firmly established. Team identities like the Southern Guards with four South Africans or Ripper GC, who won the 2024 Team Championship, are now an integral part of the landscape. It seems the days of pure poaching are over, and a new era of collaboration is beginning.

The Giants in Focus

And LIV's stars? They continue to compete at the very top. Giants like Bryson DeChambeau of Crushers GC and Jon Rahm of Legion XIII are set for the Majors. DeChambeau secured two victories in March 2026, once in South Africa and once in Singapore – what an incredible run! This makes him a hot contender for the Masters, which starts on April 9, 2026, just like Rory McIlroy, who is hoping for a repeat of his success. Things are really heating up on the green!

EXCERPT: The LIV Golf Tour focuses on partnerships instead of its own events: Up to eight LIV players will compete at the Singapore Open (April 23-26, 2026). Stars like Bryson DeChambeau, fresh off two March victories, are hot for the Masters, which begins on April 9, 2026.
