In January of this year, McIlroy publicly followed up: "I think what [McKibbin] potentially sacrifices and gives up – access to the Majors, a possible Ryder Cup spot," McIlroy told reporters. "If I were in his position and had his potential, which I believe I once had, I wouldn't make that decision [to go to LIV]." A statement that hit home! Although McKibbin stressed that he took McIlroy's advice seriously, he ultimately decided to turn down the PGA Tour and embark on the path to LIV Golf. What a bold move!
