Jordan Spieth: 0 Bogeys, 4 Doubles! PGA Tour Record!

Folks, buckle up! Jordan Spieth put on a show at the 2026 RBC Heritage that has even us old golf veterans marveling. What the champion from Texas displayed in the first 36 holes was no ordinary round of golf, but a masterpiece of controlled chaos. Whoever thought golf was predictable had clearly underestimated Spieth!

Because Spieth set a PGA Tour record that hasn't been seen in over 20 years. After 36 holes, he was 1-under par, but had zero bogeys and at the same time four (!) double bogeys on his scorecard. Absolutely insane, right? Golf analyst Justin Ray dug this up on April 18, 2026 – sparking a real discussion.

Justin Ray

Jordan Spieth through 36 holes this week: *1-under-par *0 bogeys *4 double bogeys He is the only player over the last 20 years on the PGA Tour to be under par, have 4+ doubles and 0 bogeys through 36 holes in any tournament.

Chaos on the Green – A Rollercoaster Ride

How is that even possible, you ask? Jordan countered the four double bogeys with an incredible nine birdies – a wild mix of brilliance and madness! While his driving stats were rather moderate, he only hit 42% of fairways, but around the green, he was on fire: He drained putts as if on a conveyor belt.

Where Does Spieth Stand Now?

Despite this rollercoaster ride, Spieth was 13 strokes behind leader Matt Fitzpatrick after two rounds. A win seemed unlikely, even though he had previously won the RBC Heritage in 2022. His historic bogey-free run unfortunately ended in round three with a three-putt on the par-4 6th hole and another bogey on the 11th, but even then, he still delivered 2-under on the front nine.

The 32-year-old Major champion (2015 Masters, 2015 U.S. Open, 2017 Open Championship) has shown flashes of brilliance and inconsistency since his wrist surgery in late 2024. He hasn't triumphed since 2022, despite his 13 PGA Tour wins, but the current season isn't going badly: Before the RBC Heritage, he recorded four top-12 finishes in six starts and was very strong in Strokes Gained: Putting. His final placement is still to be determined, but one thing is clear: Spieth is always good for a story!
