At the Bank of Utah Championship at Black Desert Resort (October 23-26), Stephan Jäger once again showed everyone how it's done. Our 33-year-old from Munich finished the tournament with a truly strong overall performance of a solid -14 under par, tying for 11th place. Sure, it wasn't a win, but 63 FedEx Cup points and a hefty $133,500 in prize money? That's quite a statement! Jäger is already safe for the 2026 season and with his consistency, he underscores why he is THE golf ambassador for Germany on the PGA Tour. Hats off!
But while Jäger was comfortably putting on the green, Jeremy Paul had to continue fighting for his Tour future. Unfortunately, things didn't go as planned for the player from Karlsruhe: With a total of -6 under par, it was only enough for a tied 51st place. Seven meager FedEx Cup points are merely a drop in the ocean and another bitter setback in the nerve-wracking fight for full playing privileges. Ranked 138th, things are about to get very serious now. For Paul, that means: straight to Qualifying School if he wants to continue teeing off on the PGA Tour in 2026. Phew, that's going to be a challenge.
It was even tougher for Thomas Rosenmüller. For the 28-year-old Bavarian, the tournament was over after just two rounds – he missed the cut with a total score of +1 over par. A bitter exit! Rosenmüller could only have hoped for a shot at the highly coveted Tour card for next season with top performances. Unfortunately, that plan has now failed – a blow that really hurts.
Conclusion from Utah: The results paint a pretty clear picture of the German PGA professionals' current situation. Stephan Jäger is safe, an established Tour player who can calmly prepare for 2026. For Jeremy Paul and Thomas Rosenmüller, however, things are about to get very serious. No more PGA Tour events for them in the coming weeks, which means for these two: full focus on Qualifying School! Everything needs to be perfect now to keep the dream of the PGA Tour alive. As for Jäger? First, put his feet up, then a strategy meeting for an even more successful 2026 season. Keep swinging!
