Houston Open: Double Ace! Scott & Lowry, Woodland Leads!

Folks, hold onto your hats! The Texas Children's Houston Open has already kept us on the edge of our seats this Sunday, March 29th, even before the final decisions. Things really heated up at Memorial Park Golf Course in Houston, and not just at the top of the leaderboard. Two aces were made – a true spectacle that grabbed the golf community's attention.

Shane Lowry started the action, acing the par-3 second hole with aplomb. But as if that weren't enough, golf legend Adam Scott followed suit shortly after, also securing an ace on the 11th hole. What a moment! This was Scott's third PGA Tour hole-in-one and his first in 14 years – the golf gods were definitely smiling. He hit the green from the tee at 189 yards (172.82 meters) directly into the hole. This was also the first hole-in-one on the 11th since the tournament moved to Memorial Park in 2020.

Woodland and Højgaard in Showdown

While balls were flying on the green and birdies were dropping, the top of the leaderboard remains wide open. Gary Woodland leads after Round 3 with a strong 18-under par. Truly impressive, considering this is his first 54-hole lead since his 2019 U.S. Open victory. But Nicolai Højgaard is hot on his heels, surging to 17-under with a sensational round of 63.

The Big Prize Awaits

For the golfers, it's not just about fame and glory, but also a significant purse. The Houston Open boasts a prize fund of 9.9 million US dollars. The winner can secure a cool 1.782 million US dollars – so financially, things are looking very good. With the final pairings set, Sunday promises plenty more drama. We'll be following closely and are eager to see who ultimately claims the victory!
