The Scot on a Major quest! Folks, hold on tight! Just one week after significantly contributing to Team Europe's Ryder Cup triumph in New York with a 1-1-1 record, World No. 9 Robert MacIntyre skillfully navigated his game around the wind-swept links courses, staying out of trouble. MacIntyre was crystal clear in his analysis: "The most important thing is to get over the ball and not be afraid. The biggest thing on these three courses is to stay out of the pot bunkers, especially off the tee. And I did that really well." Period. Full stop. Our man from Oban has already claimed the Genesis Scottish Open and the Dunhill on home soil. With these two big trophies in his pocket, he's now tasted blood. The goal? The Scottish hat-trick! His first Major win – and that in St. Andrews, the Home of Golf, where The Open Championship is set to return in 2027. Someone knows what he wants! After his triumph, he spoke with the DP World Tour, and his words reveal much: "Winning anywhere in the world is special, but for a Scot... I've won the Scottish Open. To win the Dunhill Links at the Home of Golf – there's simply no better place to win golf tournaments. The only thing that could top that would be an Open Championship at St. Andrews." He continued, emotions palpable: "But no, this is a very, very special win, and for me as a Scot, it just takes the whole thing to another level. It's no longer a secret: A Major Championship is what I need or what I want." A clear statement! As a reminder, folks: This year he was already runner-up at the U.S. Open and then followed it up with a T7 at The Open at Royal Portrush. He knows exactly where the journey is headed, and we feel it too: The door to his first Major title will soon be kicked open – MacIntyre is already standing right in front of it! What an incredible round, what an attitude! We can't wait to see when it happens!
