DPWT: Alex Fitzpatrick Wins, Historic Brotherly Double!

What a way to kick off the spring! Alex Fitzpatrick, the 27-year-old Englishman, secured his first DP World Tour title at the HERO Indian Open on March 29, 2026. And how! With a truly spectacular comeback, he showed what he's made of.

Dramatic Comeback on the Green

Before the final round, Fitzpatrick was still four shots behind leader Eugenio Chacarra – a real challenge. But the man had a plan: He posted a strong 69 (-3) on the course and played his way to victory with a total of 279 strokes – with a two-shot lead! Things really got intense, especially when he carded a birdie on the 17th hole, giving himself a four-shot lead heading into the 18th, even though a double-bogey was recorded there.

A Family Affair: The Fitzpatrick Brothers Deliver Again

This victory is not only a huge deal for Alex but also for the entire Fitzpatrick family. With this win, he has emulated his brother Matt Fitzpatrick after his recent PGA TOUR victory. Essentially a brotherly back-to-back on the biggest tours – these guys are on a roll!

Alex himself was emotional and reflective after the triumph: "If you stick with it long enough, a door will eventually open." That's the mentality, folks! It's quite a statement to be in the shadow of a successful brother, but Alex takes it with humor: "It's great to join my brother Matt as a winner on the DP World Tour. It can be tough sometimes constantly chasing someone's success, but luckily it's my brother, so it's not too bad." Respect! The DLF Golf & Country Club saw many strong golfers competing, including MJ Daffue, Ugo Coussaud, and Andy Sullivan, who shared third place. But this Sunday definitely belonged to Alex Fitzpatrick.
