The DP World Tour has clearly outlined its path for 2027, making the Gulf states a permanent fixture in the Tour calendar: A total of six events will be held there, from the season opener to the grand finale. With this announcement, the region manifests itself as an absolute hotspot in professional golf, hosting both the season's start and its dramatic conclusion. The United Arab Emirates, in particular, secure a lion's share, underscoring their status as a powerhouse of the sport.
Desert Swing 2.0: Intense Action Kicking Off the Year
The early Middle East Swing will provide a powerful start to 2027 with four tournaments. It kicks off with the Team Cup at Abu Dhabi Golf Resort from January 15-17, followed by the Hero Dubai Desert Classic from January 21-24 at Emirates Golf Club. Afterward, the action continues to the Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship (January 28-31) and the Qatar Masters (February 3-6). A packed month of golf action that will get players up to full speed right at the start of the season.
Incidentally, the Hero Dubai Desert Classic and the Abu Dhabi Championship are not just any events – they are among the Tour's five prestigious Rolex Series events. With the DP World Tour Championship, Dubai in November, Dubai will host three of these mega-events. This is not only a financial statement but also demonstrates the Tour's confidence in the local facilities and organization.
Grand Finale: The Race to Dubai Returns
The grand finale of the Race to Dubai will once again be held in the UAE. The autumn playoffs are the crucial point of the season, where it will be decided who takes home the trophy. From November 4-7, the Abu Dhabi Championship is scheduled, followed by the ultimate showdown at the DP World Tour Championship, Dubai from November 11-14. What a conclusion to an already packed season with a total of 42 tournaments in 24 countries. The golf world can therefore anticipate plenty of drama and stellar rounds as the battle for the DP World Tour crown unfolds.
