A million dollars for a good cause – Callaway Golf is reacting decisively to the recent advertising scandal and ending its collaboration with Good Good. The renowned golf manufacturer is under fire after an advertisement for the new Quantum Driver caused outrage online. Callaway is now pulling the plug and clearly positioning itself against violence.
At the center of the backlash is a short promo video that Good Good released for Callaway. In it, Good Good Co-Founder Garrett Clark shoves employee Alexis Miestowski to the ground and shouts: “Don’t touch my new driver!” The reactions were predictable: A storm of indignation swept through social media, with demands to immediately remove the ad and end the partnership.
Callaway Acts Decisively
Callaway Golf heard and understood the criticism. The company publicly apologized and admitted that the content should never have been approved. The consequences were swift: The collaboration with Good Good was terminated with immediate effect. Additionally, Callaway pledged to donate one million dollars to organizations working to combat violence against women. A clear statement intended to steer the brand back into calmer waters.
Good Good De-escalates the Situation
Good Good was also compelled to act. The team removed the controversial advertisement and also issued an apology. However, the damage to their image is immense. The long-standing partnership with Callaway, which began in 2023 and supplied Good Good with Callaway branding on shoes, balls, and gloves, is now history. Industry insiders are already reporting further commercial repercussions, as retailers and TV partners distance themselves from Good Good products.
