Caleb Surratt: First Professional Win at the Singapore Open?

SINGAPORE – American rising star Caleb Surratt of Legion XIII arrives this week at the Singapore Open presented by The Business Times, determined to turn a series of agonizingly close calls into a long-awaited first professional victory, building on the momentum of a recent team success at LIV Golf Mexico and fostering a greater presence for Legion XIII on the International Series. The 22-year-old has been one of the most consistent players on the series in recent seasons, coming agonizingly close to victory on multiple occasions. He was runner-up twice in a row at the PIF Saudi International powered by SoftBank Investment Advisers in 2024 and 2025, secured another second-place finish at the International Series England in 2024, and achieved a tied third-place finish at the International Series Morocco in the same year. These narrow misses have only strengthened his resolve and deepened his connection to the series.

Composure is Key

"I'm here to play at the highest level I can," said Surratt. "If I don't get in my own way and don't worry about what others are doing, I know I'll give myself a chance on Sunday. The goal is to contend, earn a spot in The Open, and continue working towards that first win. I firmly believe it will come – it's just a matter of time."

Surratt has also been a vocal advocate for greater participation from his Legion XIII teammates, highlighting both the competitive strength and global appeal of the series. "Yeah, it would definitely be nice," he said. "Some of the guys haven't played many yet, but I've been talking to Tom McKibbin about it; it fits well into his schedule. His win in Hong Kong was huge, and I think he's seen how strong these events are. Personally, I've really enjoyed every event I've played. I haven't been to one yet that I wouldn't return to, and I look forward to playing more and hopefully bringing some of the guys along."

Push for Majors and Team Spirit

Following the team's victory in Mexico, Surratt arrives in Singapore believing his game is heading in the right direction at a crucial point in the season. "It definitely helps," he said. "I don't think I've played as well as I would have liked this year, but I feel like I'm trending in the right direction. I'm seeing areas that previously held me back starting to improve, so I'm excited to build on that – both with the team and individually."

With a consistent presence at International Series events, Surratt also credits this as a key component
