Bryson DeChambeau: Is the PGA Tour on its Knees? The Facts!

So, golfers, buckle up! The tour rivalry continues to boil, and The Mad Scientist has once again spoken his mind. Bryson DeChambeau, currently playing for LIV Golf, is firmly convinced that he would be the PGA Tour's great salvation, should he be allowed to return. At the same time, he claims the Tour is currently 'not doing well' financially and athletically. Well, if that isn't a bold claim!

This statement naturally landed like a hooked shot into the rough! Critics accuse him of completely ignoring the PGA Tour's current form. Because let's be honest, golfers: TV ratings are very strong, sponsors are lining up, and events are seeing record attendance. Things are going really well on the course right now; one cannot speak of a struggling tour.

Two Worlds, One Feud

It's important to remember: Bryson switched to LIV Golf in 2022, and that caused a significant rift in the golf world. Since then, negotiations for a potential merger between the PGA Tour, LIV, and the PIF have been ongoing – but there's still no final deal by May 2026. While Bryson is now musing about his return, many PGA pros, including heavyweights like Rory McIlroy, are skeptical of such an idea. After all, they witnessed DeChambeau and others sue the Tour.

The Mad Scientist on the Major Green

Despite all the discussions and jabs: DeChambeau remains a fixture in the golf world. He is actively playing on LIV, ranked approximately 10th in the OWGR, and will soon show us what he's capable of at a Major. At the upcoming PGA Championship from May 15-18 at Valhalla, he will, of course, be teeing off as a former winner from 2020. Let's see if his drives cause more of a stir there than his statements!
