The BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth continues to expand its star lineup with Matt Fitzpatrick, Shane Lowry, and Robert MacIntyre, cementing its status as a true powerhouse on the European golf calendar. From September 17-20, 2026, the DP World Tour's flagship event will become the absolute epicenter of spectacle when these three heavyweights rock the turf. It already promises an epic battle for the title.
Matt Fitzpatrick, the current World No. 4, is particularly keen on home advantage. The Englishman aims to be the first English winner since Tyrrell Hatton's triumph in 2020. And if you thought that was all: Shane Lowry, the 2022 BMW PGA Champion, is also returning, bringing all his experience to the green. Robert MacIntyre makes his eighth consecutive appearance at Wentworth, fresh from Europe's back-to-back Ryder Cup victories in 2023 and 2024 – so the Scot is more than just in form. These guys are currently in excellent shape: Fitzpatrick recently opened the BMW Championship on the PGA Tour with a round of 65, and MacIntyre with a 68.
