Bear Intermezzo at the Ladies Slovak Golf Open

Two bears on the course – no, that's not a joke, but the stark reality at the Ladies Slovak Golf Open, where nature thoroughly disrupted the schedule. During the second round at the TÁLE Ski Golf & Hotel Resort in Slovakia, the players had an involuntary break because two adult furry visitors were enjoying a spontaneous gathering on the fairway.

At 10:00 AM local time (10:00 AM CEST), play was halted: The LET Access Series, the challenging development tour for the Ladies European Tour, had to suspend the game. The safety of the golfers naturally took top priority, so everyone headed to the clubhouse while a wildlife team got the unexpected spectators under control. Quite a scene on the course!

Uninvited Guests Create Drama

This animal incident once again shows that golf is more than just clubs, balls, and birdies. The TÁLE Ski Golf & Hotel Resort is located in the heart of the Slovakian mountains, where wildlife is simply part of the landscape. A truly memorable moment that players and spectators alike will surely remember for a long time. Who else has such a story to tell from the golf course?

LET Access Series

Play was suspended at 10.00am (local time) due to sighting of bears on the course at TÁLE Ski Golf & Hotel Resort. The wildlife response team has been deployed. Players are safely back in the clubhouse. The next update will be issued at 11.00am. #LadiesSlovakGolfOpen

Back to Business: Tee-Off After the Bear Alert

After a forced break of approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes, during which the wildlife team did an excellent job, play could finally resume. The course was safe again, the bears apparently reined in, and the ladies were back in action to compete for the win. So much for "undisturbed peace on the golf course." That was truly strong crisis management to allow the epic round to continue.

LET Access Series

UPDATE: Play will resume at 11.15am (local time). The wildlife response team will remain on site for the remainder of the tournament and it is now safe to restart play. Afternoon tee times will be delayed by 1 hour 15 minutes. #LadiesSlovakGolfOpen
