Adam Scott is officially set to make his 100th consecutive Major start at the US Open in June, after officials confirmed 35 wildcards for the field on Monday.
Of these, 24 spots were secured via the top-60 of the World Ranking, as of Monday, including Scott, who is ranked 49th. The Australian made his 100th Major appearance overall and his 99th consecutive last week at the PGA Championship. He is now close to joining golf icon Jack Nicklaus, who incredibly played in 146 consecutive Majors from the 1962 Masters to the 1998 US Open. Scott's impressive streak began in 2001 with The Open Championship and includes his 2013 Masters victory.
Additional wildcards confirmed on Monday included Jordan Spieth, the 2015 US Open Champion, who finished 2025 ranked 80th but has now climbed to 47th. Also, former Masters champion Patrick Reed, whose world ranking has risen to 21st since his departure from the LIV Golf Circuit and successes on the DP World Tour, will make his 12th consecutive US Open start.
For Norway's Kristoffer Reitan, it will be his first US Open as a professional at Shinnecock Hills in Southampton, New York, following his triumph at Quail Hollow. Reitan had already qualified for the US Open at Shinnecock as an amateur in 2018. Alex Smalley climbed 36 spots in the rankings with his tied second-place finish at the PGA Championship and will make his second US Open start; his first was in 2017 at Erin Hills. And PGA Championship winner Aaron Rai from England received a five-year wildcard for the US Open with his first Major win on Sunday. What a statement!
