Lottie Woad has done it again! The Englishwoman claimed her second LPGA Tour title at the Kroger Queen City Championship, leaving South Korea's Haeran Ryu two strokes behind. That was a statement that certainly generated a lot of buzz in Ohio.
At Maketewah Country Club in Cincinnati, Woad dominated with a total score of 12-under-par (268 strokes). Haeran Ryu finished second at 10-under-par, while Miyu Yamashita completed the podium at 9-under-par. Unfortunately, it didn't go quite as smoothly for defending champion Charley Hull; she finished the tournament in a tie for 40th.
Nerves of Steel in the Final Round
The final round began for Woad with a solid three-stroke lead. An early birdie had fans cheering, but a brief stumble in the form of a double-bogey on the sixth hole opened the door for her competitors. But anyone who knows Woad knows she has nerves of steel. She recovered and showed how to perform under pressure.
A 20-foot (6-meter) birdie on the 17th hole restored control and sealed the triumph. What a fantastic round, ultimately carded at 1-under-par (69 strokes) to secure the victory.
A Rising Star on the Horizon
This victory in 2026 is not only her second on the LPGA Tour but also solidifies her status as an absolute exceptional talent. Already last year, in her professional debut, she secured the win at the Women's Scottish Open. Before that, she had already won the Irish Open as an amateur. Woad is definitely on the scene and shows that she must be reckoned with when it comes to the biggest titles. The conditions were windy, but her game was simply incredibly strong.
