Four guys have already made it to the Korn Ferry Tour 2027 before the grand finale – that's quite a statement on the PGA Tour Americas! Thomas Ponder, Corey Pereira, Étienne Papineau, and Patrick Flavin have secured their tickets to the next level of professional golf and can approach the season's final party relaxed.
Thomas Ponder, in particular, is on a strong run, leading the rankings and having already made an impressive mark with a solid eight top-10 finishes. The 2027 season will be his debut on the Korn Ferry Tour. Corey Pereira, Étienne Papineau, and Patrick Flavin, however, are familiar with the circuit and are returning, ready to compete again. Papineau, ranked third with 1,382.55 points, clinched two victories in 2026 at the Osprey Valley Open and the Digital Commerce Group Open – a stellar season for the Canadian.
The PGA Tour Americas Elite
These four players are mathematically guaranteed a spot in the top 10 of the season standings – the magic cutoff for Korn Ferry Tour qualification. While the deal is sealed for them, emotions are running high among their pursuers. The remaining six Korn Ferry Tour cards will be decided this week at the Dominican Republic Tour Championship.
Showdown in the Dominican Republic
From October 15th to 18th, the 72-hole event will take place at the spectacular PGA Ocean’s 4 in Playa Nueva Romana. The field is limited to the top 60 players, and the winner will receive 600 points – a full 100 more than at regular season events. This means everyone is still in contention and has a mathematical chance to play their way into the top 10. Drew Doyle currently holds the hot seat at 10th place with 742.288 points, while Canadian Joey Savoie lurks in 12th place with 690.48 points. It will truly come down to the wire on Sunday when the final Korn Ferry Tour Class of 2027 is shaped.
