The Korean Golf Club is stumbling, but this week could bring the turning point – precisely at home. A fresh start, a new beginning, or simply the embrace of home fans they desperately need: The Korean Golf Club returns to LIV Golf Korea this week, hoping for a turnaround. At Asiad Country Club, on their home course, they aim for a breakthrough.
Reload in Busan
Since the rebranding in the offseason, Captain Byeong Hun An and his crew have been eagerly awaiting this moment. Iron Heads GC became Korean Golf Club, a white tiger now roars as their logo, and with An himself, Minkyu Kim, and Younghan Song, fresh Korean faces are on the roster. An overhaul that promised a lot.
Full of vigor, they started the 2026 season, and two eighth-place finishes in the 13-team league – in Riyadh and Adelaide – made people take notice. But then came the slump: Four last-place finishes and a solitary eleventh place in Mexico City in the last five events. The club is currently at the bottom of the season standings.
Rookie Status as an Excuse?
“Our season has been really tough so far; hopefully, this will be the turning point,” said Captain An. His ninth-place finish at the LIV debut in Riyadh is currently the only top-10 result for the guys in 2026. “I personally also struggled a bit, but in the end, we are all still rookies on LIV Golf. We want to use this week to turn the momentum and carry it into the remaining events.” The mission: Not just to fly the flag high, but to finally play really strong again.
