The Irish golf brigade is gearing up! Pádraig Harrington, Tom McKibbin, and Séamus Power are officially confirmed for the Amgen Irish Open 2026, expanding an already star-studded field. Joining defending champion Rory McIlroy and 2009 winner Shane Lowry are three more top talents from the Emerald Isle.
This year, the tournament celebrates a premiere: For the first time, it will be held from September 9th to 13th, 2026, at Trump International Golf Links Ireland in Doonbeg. Harrington, a living legend and Irish Open champion from 2007, will be teeing off for the 31st consecutive time – an incredible milestone. He proved he's still incredibly strong just last week with a top-20 finish at the PGA Championship. He's simply in top form!
The New Generation is Emerging
But the youngsters are also eager: Tom McKibbin, just 23 years old, will compete in his fifth Irish Open, after conjuring one sensational round after another on the course last year and finishing in the top 20. His profile is rising rapidly, especially since he became the youngest Irish winner since Rory McIlroy with his victory at the European Open in 2023. Séamus Power, a two-time PGA Tour winner, makes his seventh appearance at his home tournament and is still chasing his first DP World Tour title.
Showdown in Doonbeg
This home tournament is the perfect stage for Power to contend in front of a home crowd. With this Irish lineup and the already confirmed stars McIlroy and Lowry, the Amgen Irish Open 2026 promises to be a real spectacle. Who will ultimately claim victory in Doonbeg? The tension on the course is already palpable!
