This year, Andrew Bailey was still working hard in the gigantic merchandise tent at the 2026 U.S. Open in Shinnecock Hills, but next year he'll be teeing off at Pebble Beach himself – as a qualified player. This incredible turnaround is the story currently stirring up the golf world. From selling polos and caps directly into the packed field of the 156 best.
Bailey's main job is National Sales Manager at Holderness & Bourne, a golf apparel brand. With 14 sales reps reporting to him and constant visits to pro shops and major events, he's close to the action. This year, he watched the pros duel on the green from within a roughly 3,159 square meter tent. Next year, he'll be right in the thick of it.
From the Register to the Tee
It's a leap that could make one dizzy. The 2027 U.S. Open at Pebble Beach awaits, and Bailey will compete there against calibers like Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, and reigning champion Wyndham Clark. One year behind the ropes, the next year as part of the absolute golf elite – that's quite something. Life doesn't write such comebacks every day.
Respect from Insiders
The news created quite a buzz in the golf community. Amanda Davis, Bailey's Merchandising Manager at Holderness & Bourne, sent him a humorous message that perfectly encapsulated the incredible rise. Things are looking good for Andrew Bailey, and we can't wait to see him tee off at Pebble Beach in 2027!
